AndRising Therapy - Aims & Ethos

The name AndRising symbolizes the journey of therapy. Initially, it may feel as though challenges are overwhelming, leaving us to struggle in rising waters. However, therapy offers us valuable insights, healing, acceptance, and strategies to rise up and reclaim our lives.

 

At AndRising Therapy, I aim to provide therapeutic services to individuals and groups through online, in-person, and courses. I witness the transformative power of therapy every day and believe in its capacity to heal. It can be daunting to navigate challenges alone or know where to begin; that’s where therapy becomes invaluable—allowing us to accept the past, understand the present, and embrace the future.

 

I specialise in anxiety disorders such as panic, OCD, Social Anxiety and Health Anxiety, as well as depression. Life often doesn't conform to neat categories, and while I follow NICE guidelines and Scottish Matrix-approved methods, I also address broader issues like boundaries, assertiveness, communication challenges, and relationship difficulties.

 

My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, providing a structured way to confront issues. I collaborate with clients to apply evidence-based methods that alleviate emotional distress and facilitate behavioural change. Additionally, I incorporate humanistic and person-centred approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema frameworks and parts work.


What does this mean in practice?

 

It means offering a safe, warm, non-judgmental space where clients express themselves and work through their challenges, utilizing proven techniques that foster acceptance, change, and healing.
